I know this post is old, but I’ve only just recently started training calisthenics and have found a daily morning routine of yoga to be great way to kickstart the day. It gets your metabolism going and improves both flexibility and mobility which is vital to progress in some of the more advanced calisthenics movements.
It is awesome yet can’t even make perfact any of asanas like you but feeling amazing change in flexibility and feeling light thank you and keep teaching me like this I love it

I’m very inflexible and my dream is to get the splits. I’m working hard on it, on my 27th day, but very far from the floor yet. I hope that take no much time. Which routine do you advice to do after these 14 days to keep work on it and go further?

Let me just start by saying that I really appreciate your transparency. As most of the people commenting, I started with Thenx and I’m so glad to have come across this. From what I’ve been seeing from your channel, you have provided every single thing that Thenx, AD, and the other channels have been missing for me personally. I’m not saying those other channels are bad, I’m just saying that your channel is the perfect fit for me. My journey started about a month ago. I am a marathon runner with a goal of running Boston. I feel that my progress is being hindered by my lack of flexibility and overall strength. I ran my most recent marathon in November and am taking a year off strictly to dedicate to flexibility and body weight exercises because I believe that running is as much mastering your body weight as calisthenics is. The combination of yoga and cali you promote with the humbleness and positivity of your character is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’m so excited to have found you and your community. I been doing yoga since a month now, okayish flexiblity, I can do most poses but my ITbends are too tight and I didn’t realise my right inner thigh muscles are tight af too. Today was the first day of this challenge, feeling feeling a little sore but i hope tomorrow will be better. Not gonna give up!

I’m re-starting my journey in my 40s. In my 20s I was super fit, weight training and track every day, very dedicated. My 30s were terrible, ruined my health completely, drinking drugs and stress. Now all I care about is my health and trying to regain that feeling of being alive and loving life.

I just started with yoga but I like doing basic calisthenics push ups, pullup,squads. Can I do them in same day? (yoga in the morning and some push up and pull ups later in the day) Because i Getting mixed information some say I should, some no..I will be grateful for any help and advice..
What a beautiful story, yoga really helped me with my depression and anxiety as well, I also also started with more power and vinyasa, but now I’m moving towards both hatha, yin and vinyasa combo and meditations. It’s so important to find the balance between mind and body and carry it throughout your daily life! Hi everyone am 50 yrs started yoga about 1.5 yrs, I do ashtanga,vin and vinyasa flow about 3 to 5 times a week a lot planks,chair, warrior poses, I like to start calisthenics but may be training muscle which don’t really use in yoga. My forearms are huge due to all planks lol cheers

Have you ever tried do as much yoga as you do calisthenics or even more yoga than you do calisthenics?
15 minutes a day is really not much.
Try doing 60 minutes a day. Like you do with calisthenics.
I think you’ll find that it does make you as strong. Just in a different way.
It doesnt make you “rep strong” in dips for example obviously.
But you cant beat the core strenght you get from yoga. And shoulder health
Theres a whole new set of muscles that get trained a lot with yoga.
I actually gained weight when I upped my yoga practice to 60 minutes a day.
Muscle weight. Because people asked me “wow you lost weight”
No I actually gained weight. Even though I have lifted heavy iron all my life.
Anyway that’s my take on it.
Try it out.
Personally I’m so tired to hell of doing “repetitions”
Day 5 today..
I don’t know if i can get the full splits, but at least my buttocks finally landed in my heels without feeling pain..
Plus: There are days that i wake up in a strange mood.. Since i finish my yoga, my mood changes and im able to go on with my day much more easy and relaxed.. I hope its the same 4 those who need it..

I can’t begin to tell you how helpful you have been! I do powerlifting and, for years, I’ve neglected stretching. During quarantine I’ve been doing your workouts everyday and I’m now so flexible it’s insane! I never thought I’d be able to do the splits but now I do them like it’s nothing. AND I’ve fallen in love with yoga which is something I never thought would happen. Thank you so very very much for taking the time to post all of these videos. You are a lifesaver!

yes, I totally agree with this man that combining yoga with something with more pressure on my body and mind is very good. I did yoga classes for more than a year and then at the same time I’ve started training mma/self defence/body conditioning with bodyweight ex. and ive never felt stronger and at the same time in control of myself, my reactions to everything, my body control at the same time. now i’m still doing a little of calisthenics and little of yoga:) p.s. i’ve also had some lower back issues at that time and yoga helped me to understand why and where they came from and how should i behave with my body to not to get those problems again:)

I recently have been suffering from moderate pain in my right abdominal and lower right back. About a year ago I’ve been in transition into a vegan meal diet so I believe my gut is ok. I just started watching your videos and I do get some relief but in 3-4 hours it comes back with a itchy sensation. On my right side from the low abdominal up under my rib cage there is some mild pain. Do you have anything or can point me to a video where I can stretch this area deeper? Hopefully it’s not appendicitis,
On a side note I’ve have much more energy just need to keep pushing.

I ripped a tendon in my back when I was doing calisthenics and weights because I wasn’t stretching enough. 18 months of hard work all gone because it’s taking such a long time to heal. Lost 15lbs of muscle and I’m a skinny bastard so it was something I was so happy about. It took this for me to finally seek out Yoga and stretching everyday. Do yourself a favor and get on it before that happens to you.

I was never a flexible person, and I didn’t even think one day I can do a split. But today I did it, just my front splits but that’s a lot to me already. I found you channel around a month ago and that was an important discovery of the year for me. Love all of your practices. Thank you for all of this efforts.

I’ve just realized for the first time how much my life has changed in the past 10 years. I moved to another country two years ago, some people I loved passed away in the beginning of the decade and it hurts but my personal life has changed last year, I met someone who I love with all my heart (and I have never loved anybody this way before) and now there are so many amazing people in my life I am surrounded by… May the next decade bring only blessings

I add 5 minutes on both side splits on each side as the extra time helps me get go down. I am almost down with 1/4 inch away. The middle splits I have a ways to go but the added 5 minutes is making a huge difference. I am seeing progress. This video is hugely helpful and I encourage people like me to modify as needed. I use yoga blocks to make sure my hips are square as I have the splits but want good form. Thank you!

i think i could probably get close to middle splits since I almost touch the ground in frog but I’m afraid to move my legs out further than my mat because they will slide on the wood floor… suggestions? (maybe wearing shoes?)
Does someone know whether my hard work has gone to waste? I started stretching for my splits in april. I just returned home from a three week vacation where i didn’t stretch at all. Feels like I have to start from stretch again.. Is this like muscle memory with strength training that I will gain my flexibility back soon because i achieved it already not long ago? Or is three weeks of not stretching for splits like I didn’t do the work at all?

I managed to do all the splits, but by the gods I was sure groaning throughout all of it. Especially with the middle splits. Breathing really helped letting go of the tension and let me fall deeper into the poses. Was pleasantly surprised.

As a guy who’s had his muscles super tight in his hamstrings for 20+ years of the gym with only about a year of stretching during that time when I realized I lost all my flexibility, if this can get me to do the splits in 14 days, you are wizards! lol

After doing your previous split challenge twice in a row about a year ago and then once again a few months ago (while regularly working out with your videos in the meantime) I went from being nearly 30cm off the ground with my front splits to 18 & 20 cm! I am now on day 5 of this new challenge and I find it easier on my body and more relaxing. I didn’t continue your previous challenge for longer because it was hurting my knees and the poses were too intense, but I am excited to continue this one and hopefully go down at least another 10cm . Today is the first day I was able to do the side leg stretch with upper body twist!
I started yoga for jiu jitsu and am really happy to hear you used to do martial arts! I hope I can develop your level physicality as an athlete, but am very far away. How did you get to such a high level in both disciplines? Hope to see your challenge thanks.

I have been doing this for 12 days and I am LESS flexible now! It really hurts my inner butt muscles to do the pyramid and front splits. Should I stop? Should I push through? Am I injured? I’m breathing and not carrying any tension, letting go and I still have so much pain. What should I do?
How to combine both things weekly? I do yoga and Pranayam daily, calisthenics or dumbells training sometimes because not able to combine both things.
How to divide 6 day week training, how many hours etc?
Hello… Julian I do all kinds of yoga style in home I love it it’s give me energy…r so and so… But I don’t do meditation… Why because…. You just……. It’s not reality.. it’s just illusion…. I like to give attention to what going on… Just face that problem it’s shoes answer…. Give attention to anything.. it called dhyana… meditation… And I do breathing practice chakra… Please make video about breathing…. Style…. I used to do gymnastics so I can do the splits but ever since I had to stop a couple years ago I haven’t been able to do it with my right leg in front anymore (though still very close), only left leg in front. though weirdly I’ve never been able to do middle splits in my life and im about 40-50cm away from the floor still so lets see where I’ll be by the end:)

Is there a what you eat in a day video of you? . Thats my problem i work out alot on the week so by the weekend i feel so good and hype that i drink alot on the weekend. Every week is like that and its hard to break the cicle.

It´s almost 10 at night, way past my bed time, Today was a busy day and couldn’t´t fit this in but I´m committed! I feel I´m letting go of so much through my hips, even if some days I feel like I´m actually getting worse at it, it still feels so good to reach my limits and breath beyond <3 Thank you!

I’m on day 3 today and I have a question: Is it normal to get aching muscles from stretching so intensively? I’m confused because the back of my legs are really aching.
Also, I’m really not very flexible for a dancer so that’s why I first started Yoga (+ in Corona-times I didn’t want/could use the gym anymore) and I just fell in love with Julianas way to teach Yoga at first it was quite hard but it gets better everyday! Thank you so much!
