Very Useful for new track rider like me, Many thanks. FC from Thailand.
Nice video bro.. Really appreciate n very useful.. Will try it when I race this weekend..
+Global Cycling Network Hey GCN, what was the music you used in the background of this video? Good stuff!
Hello friends is they anymore tips to a guy new to the road cycling sport? Or any updated rules ect or tips on upgrading this bike I have if they are any other channels worth looking at would be greatful for recommendations thank you please comment below even if you are new aswel and have learned things would like to know and will be appreciated
Consering body position. Great Video and emails. Keep up the great work.
This is probably one of the best Riding Technique Video Series I’ve ever seen. Thank you so much Alberto. Love from India:)
Would wearing compression shorts under cycling shorts be a no no or are they ok?
I’m usually have good legs one or two days after e hard intervall.. Can someone explain this to me?
can make a video about suspencion technical Mecanics like about Oils for the forks and greases, that stuff for all kind of bike forks starting from post air forks till full air oil forks.by the way very nice tips i use them most of the time Here in Costa Rica we have very shaked turns and a lots of roads mixed up with trials and pre Enduro road trips well them thank very much/
Damn. You guys would end up in the bushes on my S Works Renegade 29×1.95’s
So, a hop to manual is a fundamental skill to know if I want to hop to manual. Fantastic information!
although yes adding weight to your bike will increase your muscle mass, and perhaps make your sprinting better, it still won’t make you better in fitness. Cycling never gets any easier, you just get faster. You add weight, you will go slower but produce the same amount of power.
I thought that Dennis’ advice would be to get to the feed zone before you leave your team so at least you can get a jam sandwich.
Tip #10: Always go commando. Always. Your nuts will appreciate this.
Great video no subtitles! I enjoyed your previous story how Franky Morbidelli gave you some good tips on body positioning. Very interesting.
Nice vid! Helpful tips… Now we know what to avoid and what to do ahhahahah
Hey Taren as always great video! I know you have mentioned it before…what are the thing you hang your bikes on in the background…or if anyone else knows please share!!!
Buy a bike that fits your ability. I can imagine nothing more embarrassing that rocking up on a TT bike with disc wheels and skinsuit, and then averaging 15mph.
You are the best.this is the result jump. this is very have important. i see dfrent 2 style.
Opies tip isn’t very useful for use mere mortals who can only hold 280W for about 15 mins
Zone 2, chain tight type rides for sure. They’re the only ones where you can enjoy the scenery. Also quite like a sweet spot session I tend to squeeze in, in the week, down at my local circuit in the summer. Possibly I only like this because it’s much better than brutalising myself on the smart trainer in the kitchen, which tends to be what happens all winter during the working week!
Hill repeats!! 35minute session or 6 laps of my local hill fluder hill in kingskerswell 3x per week, 1hr sweat suit sessions 3x per week on the turbo trainer and 3x 5k jogs per week! ♂️♂️♂️♂️
Hi Naska! What’s the best way to move your body (bum) from one side to the other during cornering? At higher and lower speed.
When I ride on trails, I always get my front wheel caught and slipping off rocks. How do is stop this???
I go with my friend’s in country side in Indonesia, Wonosobo well although the road is like normal road, the road inclined about 10 to 40 degrees 70% of the ride, the total trip is about 20km or more and when declined we got good speed to the way to home of course our home not far from there (i’m live in city but outside the city like literally it’s already country-side) so straight to our own home i’m 15 this may btw, and sorry for my english it’s not my native language
my trainer always says that riding with your knee out is not good. What’s your advice.
Hey idol! Iike the design of your shirt! Simple but very eyecatching hope i can have 1 someday
Wow you guys are cranking out videos faster than a chicken lays eggs. Good stuff guys!
Which Handlebar is harder to control? Flat bars or Drop bars?
Thanks for the screen time for female cyclists! Gotta show support!
Just got a 07 gt 3.0 I drive 5 off a friend who bought it a long time ago but got surgery so he gave it to me. It looks like a really good bike is it? And I’ve been practicing on some flat Terrain first and slowly working my way up hills and such. I love the bike I feel like I got a lot for 100 bucks
My secret is that I do recovery naps everyday, no more than 1 hour at a time, 10 times a day.
New subscriber here. Loving your content. Very good English my friend!
Dont follow the 80/20% rule. the less you train the harder you can go. the more you train the less of the time you should go hard.
Hooooray for the Canadian Guy. Taren is a good man. So glad you finally got to the true champions’ credo. Most Non Champions go too ‘hard’ on the easy days and too ‘easy’ on the hard days. Most people do this because they are not well rested for their ‘hard’ days, and are afraid to go easy on the ‘easy’ days. Now, if Triathlon Taren had placed Dave Scott higher on his top 10 list, he would have gotten to this earlier….LOL……Yes, I am a Canadian. Second, Taren is correct about what we called TITS back in the early 80s…..Time in The Saddle. Get used to your bike. If Taren had placed Paula Newby Fraser higher on his list, he would know he never has to do over distance RUNS……More quality bike miles, plus shorter quality runs when fresh….Booom……and now that I am listening to the finish of this video…..No…..almost no bricks. A few maybe, walk your way off the bike, then trot a little, then stride for 2 minutes….then stop. Do your runs when fresh and be FASTER in those. You are never coming off of an intense bike ride feeling anything but worked if you are trying to hit a PR. (Your taper period is how you get ready to push late in the race). Unless you are a pro, don’t do many bricks and recently even Monseigneur Lionel S. said the same…..for him. Taren, I think you are great and I check in with your vids every so often. I quit racing in 1983 after two Kona finishes and a few shorter ones…….Get comfy on your aero bars, we didn’t have dem thaaaaangs back then. LOL….. Over swim all you want, and like Mark Allen says, do a bike ride that spans your entire length of expected time for the race about once a month or so…..This is how he beat D Scott in 89. Your swim tips are great. Get wide if the beach allow, or just wait. Get in your wet suit for all the reasons you stated, plus you are gonna be faster and this will help your brain, lol. Also, I recommend that people who race in wet suits should train in wet suit pants. 79 bucks from Xterra in San Diego. What this does is bring our lazy positioning to a better place and approximates your wet suit times better…feels great, too. Mostly, it allows you to focus on your catch. pull and finish without any added stresses. I have had triathletes swim the exact same 100 times without kicking at all in wet suit pants. No surprises. Keep going Taren, you help many and have the right spirit for this sport. For fun and info, I am 63
years old………T
I want to see you take a average rider and apply the skills in your vids with him a step by step kinda thing. let’s call the rider IT short for ××it and let’s see how he progress. This would be good to see
Tempo Bursts. 10-20 minutes of tempo, with a 10 second sprint every 2.5 minutes. Floods the muscles with lactate but isn’t as painful as other lactate builders like over/unders.
beginers guide to mountain biking http://roadandmountainbikereviews.co.uk/mountain-bike-questions/
the tricks are sick i will try to do them on my mountain bike or my stunt bike
Of today’s news Rohan Dennis might use disappearing to train.
how do u guys turn so well.. i have the fear of falling if i bend to the side too much
IS anyone worried about his QR skewer not done up properly? at 01:30🙂 Safety first Taren x
Me I trained in the cafe
If you down that coffee quick you usually get a good 5 minute lead on your mates
Just be prepared for them to shout some rubbish about group rides and stuff like that
It’s pronounced Matej Mohorich (Mohorič) because us Slovenians have wierd letters that aren’t written in tdf etc.
BORING >> these two guys are dull, get the original guys back on please
What you said about beginners also apply to more experienced riders. So many group rides are done too fast that I’m doing them more sparingly now. I love the social aspect of the ride, but when I look at the data afterwards I’m thinking what the hell is this useful for. The only good thing is it’s a 3+ hours ride at least I know I’m building a nice endurance base no matter the intensity. And on the uphills you can get a lot of benefits from going out of your comfort zone.
thank you your english is very good! Thank you for the valuable information!!!
But theres 1 guestion that i want to know, when you wheelie you want the seat up and when hou want to do bhops etc you want the seat to ne lower so what is the solution for it?
Made the mistake of not making my long runs, rides and swims long enough last year. I also rarely did bricks. Corrected that back in september. thanks to your advice
11:53 oh yeah, I make a ton of mistakes in the first race of each year.
2 years ago in the middle of the season race, I left my cycling shoes in the car… Didn’t realize that until I was done with the swim, during the race … Rode the triathlon bike, which has clipless pedals, with my running shoes… It’s doing that you realize how much your feet, with clipless pedals, help control the bike…. There was no jumping out of the seat that day to sprint anything …
I’m having a ball with all of this.
I just watched 4 TT videos in zone 2. My new Monday night routine.
I can no other answer make but thanks, and thanks, and ever thanks
Best 2 training sessions on back to back days with decent base miles in legs:
1st session: VO2 Max efforts 4x 4 On 4 Off or 5 On 5 Off to a max of 25 mins of work.
2nd session (this one is great to build race-like intensity!):
2×20 minute intervals: 12 minutes SWEETSPOT straight into 8 minutes of fullout: 40 seconds on 20 seconds off(Tabata). 10 minutes recovery in between. Add another interval if you feel you can. I haven’t got there yet.
All those tricks are quite easy for me so I think I should copy
Intervals. 6x at 6 minutes each, with only 4 minutes of recovery in between. Do that on successive days, then have an endurance ride of at least 5 hours on day 3.
That’s a training session shared with my by a current national champion of a large European nation.
I’ve been able to increase the NP on my rides between 30-50 watts in only two weeks.
I absolutely love GCN. I first started watching their videos when i got my first MTB about a month ago. I was new to a geared bike. But now because of GCN i can shift my gears comfortably, burn a lot of calories and make my biking experience memorable. Even though India is not a particularly cyclist friendly country, i go for a bike ride everyday and follow GCN’s tips…. it’s like GCN changed my vacation time for the better… love you GCN!
A video giving tips on solo cycling when extreme cross-winds affect your safety. I have been blown in to adjacent lane traffic in the past & have ended up on the floor. Is it just a case of changing direction by 90o to get a tail wind?
Sir cam i have a suggestion. Can you also make a video tips about mountain biking? i hope you will notice my suggestion
Hello guys. Could you please recommend me a similar chaneel but focused more on supermotard/supermoto (could be in english, italian, french or spanish)?
Thanks Naska for all your info and videos.
THE BEST, motorcycle videos on YouTube. Straight to the point and VERY informative. Great job keep up the great work.
Hi Sam I am 10 years old I’m quite short do you think i would be able to do the wheely on a carera absis
Lean bike with legs, or countersteering? Left corner, you make all what you say and push handlebars on right. I watch movie by Keith Code California superbike school about how drive motorcycle on race track. I love see all your videos and you have my subscribe
Question how do you not descend on the drops? I would be scared to try it any other way.
Thanks Taren. I’m loving fulgaz with an apple tv, I think Zwift is hard to use for zone 2 training, fulgaz is easier for me.
Back in the 60’s hood we did wheelies on our 10-speed Schwinn racers. I had a 27″ Continental in purple. Paid $107 including tax. I think that’s less than the front fork on this trick.
Do you haven’t link where one may order some cycling
products?
Huuuuuuuh I can’t do every tricks bcuz my bike DONT EVEN have suspensions.
What brand of fork do you use on the white bike and the wheels?
I really love your vids, it make me improve a lot since I started to ride a bicycle again after 10 years out, amazing job, greeting from Peru
I really wish i had watched this 6 months ago… i have slogged out so much zone 3 training over the past half a year thinking that was what i needed. never too late to make the change. thanks for all the awesome videos.
Great help thanks it will help for my 1st triathelon be it only a sprint triathelon
thanks for those tips. i laughed at commando. i thought every one knew that and my favourite is to look as you say in front. it has helped me when cars appear on a sharp corner. if you look where you should go. it helps.
3 minutes in, and still haven’t reached the subject matter. This is just meant as a tip for your future videos. Attention spans are not necessarily endless on Youtube. And my English is by no means perfect. Cheers from Denmark.
Secret training hackavoid zone 3 heart rate. Minimises fatigue from long rides, maximises benefit from short, intense ones. I’ve an ftp of 320 from 7.5 hours training a week.
Fantastic thricks! I can only do 1 the wheely.. Im going for a trail ride tomorrow with my cube mountain bike has good suspension.. And ik really exited to try a few trick! Thank you
Did anyone now the model of the red tires that the specialized is riding?
You are very good at explaining these fundamental and often over-looked skills. Great Job!
I have a First Bike made almost entirly from iron and it’s pretty hard to jump and wheelie
Heres some secrets. They microdose PEDs and have phony therapeutic use exemptions.
Fantastic cam thanks for sharing I’m new to cycling and your videos helping
The last one surprised me, but it’s logical when you say it. Thank you
Alberto, you are fucking awesome. You address things that I haven’t had to address yet, but I know are coming up for me. Thankyou very much for taking the time to do your videos.
im not sure if i can ride with these tiny ass tiers im more into forest tiers
It’s quite simple.
Increase the weight, increase aero resistance, but maintain the correct geometry.
Then start training as planned.
Thank you for the easy but fundamentally very true information! How true go to track with a plan top focus on one small are ato focus on. And then it happens, out on track in learning mode and someone passes you and then its on. Red Mist and then everything you had the intentions to focus on are gone! Brilliant:-)
What about chris Froome didn’t he climb with his brakes in to stimulate a alpine climb when he was living in Kenya
A friend of mine when out training with weights on his bike for long rides
Great tips!!! I’m new in the Road Bike World.!!! Congratulations for the good videos.
Yaa just like Building a muscle memory thank u for Your Precious Suggestion
I just slam both my brakes when I’m going fast to do a 180 but it only does it because I got slick tires
Hello Alberto, i am currently living in Italy, i am just wondering which track did you go to practice? 20euros for renting the mini GP 10euros, that sounds like a great deal! Is it the Mugello Track? i hope to here from you.
Mistake of the week is the Thumbnail saying “Top 9” instead of the usual “Top 10”:-)
My previous comment should have read that such a video would br useful. I tried the high cadence thing this morning on the turbo. My prosthetic leg began melting at 105 rpm
yeah this is the problem i get. i think i go too hard on the bike and right when i stop to go running i feel faint. So i should do longer rides but not as intense?
I feel like i’m burning extra calories watching this. Does riding on the painted white line harm the tires? I move faster on the white line
3:12 ewwwww… nipple slip. Very bad Travolta…these are the things you just can’t unsee
Motor-pacing behind a moped sounds like a great way to breathe in lots of unhealthy exhaust.
“look where you’re going”, so important. I took my eyes off a bike path I regularly ride and had a bad crash that caused a grade 5 ac joint separation possibly requiring surgery….. Don’t be me!
Sir I’m a big fan of yours.I love your cycling practice.I do not have a bicycle to do that.sir can you give me a bicycle pizzz
I’m looking for a new fork to replace my bad SR Suntor one that came with my bike and I was looking for a good single track riding fork could you hep me?
Looking where you want to go and the bike following is a great tip. Used to use this when motorbiking and it allowed for faster corner speed and better bike handling. Great videos guys, really enjoy watching.
Question, if you always close gaps, don’t you use up a lot of energy? I’ve closed gaps and had little energy left for the final lap.
Thanks for mentioning Olympic distance, not all of us race half or full Ironman distance races. Also thank you for mentioning you don’t have to have a bike that’s just as expensive as your car. My bike was $2,000, and I raced ok with $800 Wheels . I will receive more gain on working on the bike’s engine (me) then I would by having a bike that cost more than my car .
Also, I don’t always race on my triathlon bike, sometimes I use my road bike. It depends on the course, there’s a few triathlons and duathlons in the area with a bike course that are more set up like a road bike criterium course. Lots of turns, lots of rolling hills… They’re not hard courses, you’re just turning and getting up and out of the saddle a lot, and then riding the brakes downhill (at least i do), plus these ones also have a lot of congestion. So a few triathlon and duathlon bicycle courses can be more races of maneuver than a pure straight-out time trial .
And yes, I have raced a lot of crits.
I really like those two presenters, they have so much fun together
my secret is to Supplement my road riding and sprinting with track racing and motor pacing.
That last tip..I use exoffico underwear under my tights…These are outdoor adventure underwear designed to remove moisture and prevent chaffing,,And they work great
Really not in to racing at all but still find the intricacies fascinating
My Number 1 Safety Tip for street cycling
DO NOT UNDERTAKE LEFT* TURNING TRAFFIC
*in the UK
Am I the only Filipino guy admiring this guy skills?or any Asian there?
The way of explanation is quite easy to understand, thank mate…
My really really secret training tip is the secret motor in my 2nd water bottle:)
Any particular training advantages to training in a group, especially if I’m not interested in racing? Seeing as I’m just using cycling for fitness, it seems much more convenient for me to just cycle on my own; I can go when I like, work harder in the same amount of time, and concentrate on different aspects (climbing, intervals, steady state) whenever I like. Would be interested to hear any particular benefits!
And i just say that when you lean the bike over it comes from pushing the inside forward that putting your weight to the inside helps but what starting the bike is you pushing the handlebar forward that’s called icounter steering when you see these guys leaning way off they’re carrying a lot of speed and g forces are keeping them on the bike if this it takes a lot of time and practice and a lot of speed in the corner. In your photo of your foot on the out side it should be hooked at the heel there is a step there to help you stay solidly based on the peg.
I’m not even close to pro, but anyways.. my training is mostly 70-170km rides in hilly terrain, where I treat each ride as a sequence of 50-150 strava races, alternating between recovery and trying to set a new PR (or in rare cases, a KOM). Haven’t hit the ceiling yet…
Sorry to bust chops but why can’t brits distinguish between EE and E as between and lever?! 1 e is eh sound. 2 e’s are ee sound. English is hard enough to learn how to spell without ppl intentionally pronouncing things wrong. Sheesh not Shesh.
I’m still trying to work out how sometimes I’ll step out of the door feeling amazing and within 30 minutes I’ll be counting the minutes until I get back home, while other times I’ll feel like death for the first 30 mins before perking up and setting PB’s in the 3rd or 4th hour?!?! Some days you are the pigeon and some days the statue…
But experienc says that at school, i was thin Cause i used to cyden 8 kn near regularly, but never was able to ride, holding cross handle I mean right hand tor left handle and vice versa
13:27 sage advice right there…. I want this guy to be my coach
The overlay makes the course look boring but there’s enough elevation change it seems interesting.
1 Don’t hit your brakes, 2 make someone else close the gaps, 3 trust the rubber.
My favourite is z3 like Adam blythe says. Also 40/20’s give great bang for your buck.
OK, with the new founding on your 2020 R1, did you changed the use of padding the thank to push you back on the seat? (here the comment is at about 3:20)
Oof I wish I can do that movement stuff but I’m fat and can’t
Hi Alberto! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience in motor biking. I love all your comments. Really learned a lot. Keep on making videos so guys like me can improve more. I am from Manila, Philippines. I own a Honda wave 100 cc. It’s so small compared to your bikes. Ha! Ha! Ha! Being safe is my primary concern. At times, I apply some riding tips like when cornering and so on but only here on national road. I do not have the luxury of buying a bigger bike and try it in the circuit but I am happy because one way or another I can still experience how you do it and just imagining if I were to ride a really fast bike… wooooo, it will be awesome. Thanks again! Keep safe!:)
Good to see the GMBN merchandise… When will the riding jerseys be available?
Really good video!!! Well done Naska for the great job! It’s great to help the amateur racers to become better
Why you dont surf with the foot on the ground before cornering like a moto gp rider Alberto?
Great video. Can you make a video how to safely pass slower rijders?
Mt mtb costs 2500 dollars and I can’t even jump 1.2 meters high
How should I adjust my handle bars? I’m 5’10” should I raise the foot pegs of my motorcycle?
Love your content guys!! Planning to get an aero bike soon but it’s a lot of money. Keep it up!
“You want to stand nice and tall, and try not to crouch over the handle bars.”
What?
Hey guys. Thanks for the video tips. I’m a bit confused. I’ve only been riding nine months, but when I read, Mastering Mountain Bike Skills (MMBS), by Brian Lopez and Lee McCormack, they told me to assume the ‘attack position,’ elbows squared, arms square from the chest, head low over the handle bars, face forward and butt off of the seat, knees bent. During later segments of your video it looks like you are doing what MMBS recommends.
I’m sure both have their place, but could you explain why I might be getting conflicting information?
Thanks
Thank you for all the useful info,
How to get proper cycling gear like padded tights I have issue with cycling for a long time on my MTB
i would LOVE to learn all of those tricks but there is one problem…i dont have mtb bikeand i cant wait to buy one, IF that ever happens
Marc why did you take the BOS fork off and replace with a pike???
Real professional cyclists don’t really train because they are genetically gifted the premadaonnas. They just go on long slow recovery rides, race and take PEDs. They say they do all kinds of other crap to maintain the industry and sell garbage to the less genetically fortunate.
Just started and I am god awful. Pedals always hit debris, don’t look ahead, ride the brakes too much, sit on the seat instead of standing, don’t lean back… Luckily my bike is better then I am, and I have avoided disaster more than a few times thanks to the forgiveness of my bike.
Just put of curiosity, how come you always refer back to Marc but not Valentino Rossi?
Hi naska hope you are doing well, i have been watching your videos because I’ve learned so much by watching and listening to tips and mistakes u have made in the past, as a new rider like myself at the moment i wanna thank you for starter.
So i have a question, i have recently purchased a 2012 R1 and the previous owner have it lowered one down for stock hight, i remembered watching one of ur videos and you were saying to adjust saddle hight to the rider’s hight and adjust handles out if possible, but I’m being told by my friends that with it lowered it will affect cornering and that i should get it raise back to stock hight for better handling. Is this true and do u recommend raising it back to stock hight?
I am 188 pounds and 5’.9” tall.
Thanks in advance!
Thanks alberto, I shared your video with my riding group in Israel. I hope it would give them some inspiration in this difficult time! Thanks for a great video!
Doin stunts like this u will also get a window in your denture like him
When you say you push the bike with the outside knee can you explain that more, I’ve always used a bit more countersteer to get the bike lower. Am I missing a trick here?
Subtitles in French please
Sous titres en français s’il vous plaît
Thanks guys, always good to have a fresh look the essential MTB skills.
Mistake of the week is clearly the “Here are out top…” instead of “Here are our top…”. Try harder, Dan.
im a “fast” local racer in Mexico (slow for the top national category but right on the back:P) and you just let me remember a lot of things that i forgot and you may gave me s great clues to continue improoving, now i have a lot of homework for my training bike on the kart track, i have had some track school but that was a few years ago, for now ill take you as the closest to a trainer now for me. Thanks.
Well done! Question, which exercise would you say is fundamental to get in shape and gain control of the bike?
what is the name of the helmet being used the one which can change to an aerodynamic helmet?
cement legs… been there, done that, sat on the side of a quiet road crying during my first tri…..
Ps, isnt a great idea to invite a fan and theets all of these things. i am a fan
I have break pads and its there’s more resistance when I pull than a disk break. How should I handle it especially downhill and jumps?
whats the sound on your bike in the turns at the start. sound like a bird. why is it making that noise
thank you for sharing all your knowledge sir. You are a good man

Bonus tip: if you look at some of the clips you can see they have their peddles level when they are not peddling. This is a good habit to have so your peddle doesn’t get caught on a root or rock.
Are you the cyclist from the show I don’t now the name but if it’s is you great job really found this channel useful now I can bunny how
First you tell me not to fart then not to wear my fart proof pants underneath.
Hello bro,
Nice to see someone giving so much valuable knowledge and the way you are explaining. You will be a great rider one day. Your time will also come.
In India there are very less tracks to even train yourself.
Hope someday things gets better:)
Thanks alot Al. I can mention something of my own experience: the next time you need to lean the bike further, fast, try giving the inside foot peg a good push with the tip of your foot. You’ll be amazed how quickly the bike responds to turn.
This was a great video! Easy to understand and follow. Great tips.
I am usually at my best, when 2-3 days ago I went on a 3-4 h ride at a ridiculously slow speed.
For what it’s worth in my experience the gym stays in the legs much longer than the bike, but the brain needs the bike more than the gym. I’ve spent too much time in he gym and lost confidence on the bike, and spent too much time on the bike and lost strength. If you can get the balance right you’ll be flying
Hi everybody, can you explain me why we should put the external foot on the sole?
Great content man. Really helpful. This is gonna be helpful when my bike is ready. I just need some parts to use it tho
Jason Stewart Good idea because a lot of people think you should wear pads then others think you shouldn’t and a lot of people think you should wear full face helmets and others don’t think its necessary so ye it would be cool if you done a video on pads and things like that
Bro,i suggest u to add subtitle.I from malaysia,it is much easier to understand with subtitle.
first of all thanks a lot for the excellent content!!
Can you do a more detailed video about how to move the feet on the bike ( for example when you go left into a corner and the immediately right or how you use the rear brake while cornering to the right)
riding safely on a road that is not closed off you should ride in single file so vehicles may pass safely
Love tommi…great video cheers Cam. More Tommy oil the future a true legend
Great video! Just popped it in my favourites. I particularly like the suggestion to build up confidence at a slower speed as I do get hassled by my beloved to go faster, which makes me feel nervous.
After tip 3 I already hit the like button. Great video!
I put weight around my belly especially around Christmas time. This should make my legs stronger, right?
fun video Cam thanks for sharing. Instructive at times too…talking about staying close to the front wheel,…unless you are a pro its not easy, if you are working the next day! You want to be able to work not finish the day at the emergency….Cheers from Montreal Québec!!
most of my sessions on the stationary bike have been an hour to 1:30 as crosstraining when i’m not running. I should really try to hit that 2 hour mark
Can you do an insight on how to maintain momentum riding 40 to 50 kph? Or how to train your set pace? I hope you get my point
so you give thousands of dollars to get ahead through technology, what about personal capabilities and compete against another person not his and his sponsors bank account?
While in the turn. Where is most of the body weight held? The inner foot? The butt? Or outer leg?
My previous comment should have read that such a video would br useful. I tried the high cadence thing this morning on the turbo. My prosthetic leg began melting at 105 rpm
This video is an eye opener for me, although i’ve watched other videos that suggests how to ride a motorcycle, your content is fresh and informative from a racer’s perspective. My greatest fear is also lowering the bike, it feels like I’m about to crash, how can I overcome that fear? Thanks in advance.
One I think you missed, off the brakes in the gnar and no mention of getting light or heavy on the bike where needed.
Hello Alberto I have a question, when you are cornering, is my understanding that you push with the hand in the direction you want to corner, now in my experience (which is limited by the way to only 5 track days) I encounter a lot of resistance in that hand and I am confused what is the function of the other hand in the corner (if one hand is pushing the other one is pulling) that is what it is? please help thank you.
Brilliant channel.
Had to give up bodybuilding and fight training due to multiple injuries, back pain and arthritis.
The amount of worthwhile info and tips on this channel is great, taut me loads.
I’m in the US Navy and I’ve started leading some indoor bike sessions (using all your great training tips).
My secret is to lead two sessions back-to-back so I’m forced to do twice as much as I would normally do.
Just tested my FTP again tonight and it was 5% higher than six weeks ago. (269 watts. Not bad for 45)
My other training secret is to get motivated by watching GCN and following Chris on the unnamed ride sharing platform. I’m a number nerd, too!
Have you’s thought about doing a video on protection?i.e padding, best most essential padding (helmet, shin guards?) and opinions on full face vs normal helmets? would be a really interesting video because a lot of it is a matter of opinion i guess:D love the videos!! just what i needed to fuel my mtb needs when the weather is bad outside! keep up the good work!!
I tired once in middle of roll, and crashed immediately like earthquake m bike, laura blood cell told Some one of his legitimate did, I thought why not me
Have the government build separated cycleways. You know many cyclists face terror from cars and trucks
Hey do you guys want some cycling kit? drop me a message we will get you some custom kit.
Biggest mistake is buying a really expensive carbon bike for cits. Get a cheaper Aluminium bike because you can take more risks and not worry as much about crashing out.
Watching this before my Intense Bike Team Traniac workout hahah…zone 5 here we go
At the end that guy on left has handlebars that look a meter wide!
Alberto, you cannot take a 1000 on the correct line if you are not with the correct setup regarding the geometry and suspensions of the motorcycle for personal riding, the type of circuit, the state of the circuit, the final transmission of the motorcycle, and other variables. This is very important to be able to drive fast. You have to have an engineer to tell you how the bike feels in each sector of the circuit so that you can set whatever is necessary so that the bike behaves as you want. The motorcycle cannot be used the same on all tracks and in all climates. The other alternative is to learn geometry and suspensions and do it yourself. In this way, the bike will be docile and will stay on the correct lines.
Amazing instructions, what track were you going on for €20 a time?
there is no secret… if you train in a heavy bike and you ad some weigth or harder gears the results are more power and speed when you jump to a ligth race bike, I normaly ride my cyclocross bike for training and once a week jump into the slim road one… just a few KG less make a big diference.
I hear many newbies complain that they didn’t have a good run and need to focus more on their run. More often the case is that bike fitness is lacking which negatively impacts the run. As TT has said other times, you don’t need to run much more than 3x week. But with biking, logging time in the saddle is key.
Brilliant. Real education. Recomending a close friend to you who benefit from some advice for competative racing. He’s late to cycling but a fitness fanatic and just won his GB jersey to compete at Duathlon (Run/bike/run). Always been driven with sport but good competetive cycling advice will just make what he’s achieving by sheer determination much more effiecient and faster. Thanks again Cam.
Body position. Something I’ve never had an answer to. I have a Trek road bike that handles like its on rails yet on a 200k ride through the Dandenongs I reversed my stem (up) thinking I would be more comfortable for the distance. On a long straight steep decent I was in the drops and let the bike run freely except, at about 65kph the bike went into the speed wobble of death. Jammed on the brakes but without control I ended off the road, upright luckily however not without the feeling of filling my shorts. Scared the life out of me and the only thing I changed was the stem. I changed it back for the rest of the ride but had no confidence anymore. Tommy talks about it briefly but can it make that much difference in a criterium race?
Loving the Guernsey velo club representation in this video.
is it me or at 1:38 the front wheel looks like its a bit offset to the right.
I have to wear underwear because i have a scar on my balls and hurts when it is against the chame
Good points. Other issues I see is to low a cadence, not evolving ones bikefit, not dealing with comfort issues, not learning about bike mechanics & proper bike maintenance.
You’ve got your rear brake on the left and front brake on the right?
Nice video again TT. I was a cyclist at the age from 10-17 and all i trained was zone 3 (145bpm). Now my training has changed. Ty for the Tipps!
Tommy is old news!! Jensen is the new CRIT KING!! We wont witness Tommy race a glenvale crit until December the bitch cant handle Infrom 1, 2 him for 1 hour.
The first thing you have to do is have “LOTS OF MONEY”….:-) Probably, when you begin training.. you should have twice the price of your bike…
Learning to race is expensive.. Every time you crash, it’s a lot of money for repairs and the training for the day will usually be over.
When you talk about the heart rate zones and the percentages do you mean of the max. 60min-heart rate or of the 20min-heart rate?
I’m just new in biking and i have this giant atx 2 2016 and my question is how tough my bike can be on trails?
Excelent content for those like me, who dream’s to take a ride with a supabike at racetrack, but does not have opportunity….
It is also very informative and easy understanding. Great Job! Thank You!
Best Wishes!
GREAT TIPS USEFUL TIPS
I AM A HK LOCAL CYCLIST AND THIS HELPS ME ALOT ESPECIALLY THE CORNERS BECAUSE I ALWAYS FALL AFTER AFTER THE CORNERS.
I AM ALSO VERY INTERESTED ON THE MERIDA STRUCTURE 4000
WISH ME LUCK BOI
Dear Alberto, I LOVE your vids they are really great!!! Best regards Simon
Hi Guys. Some great tips, but what was the camera operator riding on. It sounded like a badly tuned 1950’s tractor about to give up the ghost.
@Global Cycling Network Another one is don’t wear Speedos CoughSimonCough

Im a boy and having a hard time to upgrade my bike

Hope youll pick me
Those training secrets are so secret that they are in YouTube.
This is a great tutorial video, but im gonna keep my tooth complete. Thanks
I think my mistake was, not trying first going handle free, then suted gradual direct cross grip, I just left both handl, left arm arond the seat hanging usual, and i took glt arm m left handle ight away, what disbalance, mo what feeling, and even hand free speed confidence was taken for that perhalar do, now i think i should have been like xpaking both arms simultaneous, to avoid balance unevennes though not ight away without reading the centr of gravity alignment of
Your videos are fantastic! You really explain very detailed and easy. Thank you so much for this!
I’m too old and fat to consider competitive cycling but it was great to listen to an expert telling a high grade cyclist what he’s doing wrong. It makes me feel more competitive even when I just ride solo 99% of the time.
Everyone I try lean in a corner my bike skids and I fall over:( please help
Interesting watching this after just having listened to the Crushing Iron pod where they totally rip on brick sessions.
I reckon that for beginners that don’t have the race experience down yet they make sense though. Am looking to getting back into triathlons for next year, so will be watching a lot from this channel to get ideas and inspiration.
I think Marc should practice more on speach, speaking or whatever, coz he seems so unconifident…
Really appreciate the advice guys and I’m sorry to say that it is much needed in my case!
The only time you need to be on the front is the last few metres
Where do you guys ride? Those roads look heavenly in the forests.
And your videos are all great!
awesome videos. is there a link to the dedicated videos you made to support these 2 riding tips videos? thank you.
I really should cycle in some real recovery days but I just can’t seem to skip a day knowing that I have such a limited season here in Canada. That being said, when I find I’m falling behind my standard tempo for a ride, I switch off my speedometer and just enjoy my daily ride. I take more time to take in the sights and just relax. Usually I find my next ride goes a lot better.
Great video! I am going to start crit racing next season so videos like this are super helpful!! Appreciate the tips!!
They emails are great, especially love the d!ck swinging one this morning (Canadian time zone).
Really useful and helped me loads in Dalby Forest at the weekend

I saw my country’s hero hariff salleh from TSG cycling team?!!!!!
Can you please explain, when you change from right to left corner for example, which LEG do you use to push yourelf up and go to other side of the bike? Inner leg or outer leg? Tnx

(lmao the one that will get it is gonna be so happy)
wow what a great incite!. ill stick to Beach rd and insta it seems haha
There’s not a worst day to open a video with a tip from Rohan Dennis
Combo Ladders!!!!!
Power interval straight into a climbing interval straight into a steady state effort!
How do we know how far our bike can lean without throwing us at the ground? Is Tyre width a factor and the bike geometry a factor?
We seriously need you in India, everybody wants to ride like Rossi but we left to our self. You are too good man. Thanks a ton..
We love your mountain biking vids! We’d be stoked to have you build us a class on
“intro to mountain biking,” for our catalogue of courses for middle and
high school kids. Let us know if you’d be interested!!

A vegan youtube joined a zwift race very day on workday in winter. Week in week out and now is at 5W/KG this is what I will do for my next winter.
build confindence slowly… best advice ever!!! thank you very much!!!
Am an Egyptian new rider with a dream to own a motorcycle since i was 10 and now i have my cb 599. And sice i got it i used to watch your tutorials and practice it. It gets me a way better riding experience and more safe as well. Thank you and keep going you are borne for this….
I have another tip for crit racing: 1. don’t forget your bidon (water bottle) when it’s a hot race. I raced at Sandown on a 38degC afternoon with water sloshing around in my guts as I tried to front-load all my consumption prior to the race (2nd lesson learned). In hindsight I should have tried to borrow a bidon from someone!
I’m gonna go ahead and call bullshit on a few of these. I don’t believe that anyone would fill tubes with water. Also, fill a bottle with lead? Nope. That stuff is literally poison and will kill you. Filled with water and sand, sure. Lead? You kidding me? K
In my opinion, lower your chest to the bike is one of the most important things. I learned it the hard way. I kept putting one foot on the ground. However, after lowering my chest to the bar when climbing, cornering, and going fast through a lot of small sharp rocks, I enjoy the ride.
Its all good but on the straight line training they were on the road lines, on cheap tires this is ok but on expensive tires it is bad, the road lines have chemicals in that can damage tires and literally disintegrate them.
Cough cough when number 2 came up I just remembered a while back I was riding my bike and went to check the time on my phone…. Ended up running face first into the back of a parked truck
9:44 yeah, don’t eat Taco Bell two hours before a race or a hard workout, been there done that . Experience can be the best instructor .
This video was extremely helpful to me when I started riding consistently. #1 tip, go commando!
Something I learned over the past two weeks wearing elbow/knee pads helps with my confidence. I guess it’s because I know that if I crash, I won’t get minced like burger meat like I did before.
Also, I had to “teach” myself to remember to position my pedals horizontally to gain ground clearance. For me, I’ve been teaching myself to make it a habit of putting them in this position during downhill sections, regardless of how steep it is, and regardless of whether there’s any obstacles in the path. Since you can see only so far ahead, already having your pedals in this position keeps you better prepared in case you do unexpectedly come up on a large root, log, or other obstacle.
Obviously, the terrain is going to vary widely depending on where you live/ride, but here in the southern US where I ride, the trails snake through dense forests, up & down steep hills that border a lake, and there’s simply no escaping exposed roots of every size. Some descents are literally “staircases” of roots which can make for a pretty jarring ride on the way down, if not a bit unnerving.
But your tips have helped me out tremendously I just remember to keep on that rear brake, tilt my weight back and above all else…..HOLD ON!!!!!! LOL
Taren, I just want to take the time as a first timer triathlon guy. Thank you so much for your videos. I’m using all of them as training guides. Thank you for making me believe anyone can do it. I appreciate it!
I’m twelve and starting mtb and I was wondering how to get my feet to stay in the pedals because they always go up and off when I hit bigger jumps?
Thanks please reply I need some help.
Back in the day. Riding a fixed gear bike (With brakes) was a favorite. 42-18 was good for November December then progress to a 4216 by the end of Febuary.
I’ve got one for Tao, put that God damn helmet on straight
I find that it’s one thing knowing what to do and another to react properly when ur pinned, it almost has to be without thinking.
Can anyone tell me what are the limits of Scott aspect 750, I mean what should and shouldnt I try to do with it.
thanks
I never knew that you don’t wear underwear when wearing cycling shorts lmao,
much love from the philippines <3
8:30 into the video and loving it. Subscribed, can I expect more content like this?!?!?!
Question!, what would you advice about braking my bike? do i use the front brakes more? or the rear? thanks!
Does anyone know who the manufacturer is the helmet with the adjustable ventilation?
These tricks are risky one of them got no teeth.
Conclusion: lose a teeth for bike tricks
I pick a pub 60 kms away and set myself a goal of under 2 hours or no booze when you get there, same applies for 30km 90 km etc etc
Riding to your own limits is such a good one i tried to progress way quick and in two weeks of owning a bike was trying the hardest stuff at the local trail centre and ended up doing my ankle in 2 months later my ankles still dodgey and my confidence is back to zero! don’t get ahead of yourself:P
Hi Naska! Can you refer a video on how to adjust the handle bars & levers to race mode. I also own an r1 same as you. Many thanks!
Yea, I just can’t do any of first 10 things you mentioned but otherwise I’m pretty much a pro
Did my first downhill MTB trail today with some friends, it was a blast on the way down and I felt like a pro using all these tips and flying down a rocky mountain (I’m from Arizona) But the uphill was a real task haha
I am giving information about swimming sports in my friends channel this week two new videos coming channel meet videoma a look you are a joy because by the way my aim is never to make a premium because if you already have my channel you will be subscribed and you will be subscribed to anyone who has already subscribed and liked everyone
When you are riding, how do you know what’s around the corner. You are cutting all of them and if there is a car comming around, good luck stopping in time
Hey Neil! Love your how to vids! I’m struggling to Manual and think it may be a bike set up issue as I can’t get the front up without yanking hard with my arms. Im 5’8″ with long upper body, short legs and arms. Have a new Giant Trance SX Medium frame and 60mm stem and fairly flat bars. Thinking shorter stem and bars with a higher rise. Thoughts? Curious how tall you are and your current setup?
This is an excellent one, as always, Taren. For me who is doing my first 70.3 in 4 weeks, this is extremely useful!
I just got I’m mountain bike today and I did pretty good for my first time on a bike I just can’t get my balance and take off everything else I have masted but just saying I am only 8 and 9 in 4 weeks so my goal is to be able to ride the bike before my b-day because I don’t think my grandad will buy me a helmet if I don’t know how to ride da thing!
@Alberto I have just started riding a litre class bike and want to make sure that it continues to perform as much as possible. Do you have any tips on how to take care of the bike’s engine and other essential components? So that it lasts for at least 1,00,000 Km? In India we have average roads with some potholes and bad traffic What do you suggest? Thanks in advance for the reply
hi can u explain how to downshift for making stop bike fast? i mean how fast we should downshift from 6 to 1
I wanna know when i knee down how to know tyre maximum to lean and how far open my knee

Sam don’t know if you will see this but is doing wheelies easier with or without back suspension
Hey guys could you give any additional tips for long distance riding/marathon?
Guys,
I’m a newbie but I’m doing a lot of night rides. I usually go with a group but sometimes I find myself alone. I’d love to hear some tips, advice and techniques to ride at night time.
Cheers
“Know your limits” there are no limits. You need to constantly push past what you think you can do or you’ll stay stuck
Why have you stopped Riding World Cups @Marc Beaumont, will you be at nationals later this year?
