no one appreciates how he links all the peer reviewed studies in the description.
Also most of the haters probably don’t know the significance of peer reviewed, published studies.
Another great video John:) Lot of thoughtful inputs.
Just bought some clusterdextrin for my intra-workout drink (just been using EAA until now). How much do you recomend to use? 10-15 grams?
does anyone have a suggestion on how to use a public bathroom, without a raised toilet seat after hip surgery?
I have high hamstring tendonosis. I take suppliments that work together milk of manganese, magnesium, collagen and gelatin, glucosamine sulphate, vitamin e and omega 3. I’ve had my injury for two years this month, and with the combination of these suppliments, kt tape, rehab exercises my recovery is slow ( as my job involves standing all day), but steady. I don’t take painkillers as I want my brain to realise what the pain level is. I use diaphragmatic breathing and ZEN meditation ( been doing it for barely two weeks, and my pain level has reduced by about 30 40 %.
Hey vegan gains quick question,
im vegan and cant seem to find any nuts, walnuts, peanuts that have a good source of protein and a low to no amount of fat if you have any brands specifics that I could try I would appreciate it.
I eat chicken and other animal meat for protein and I feel completely fine, even my doctor says it’s fine.
Your a clever guy and I appreciate your advice it’s very kind of you to give up your time and pass your knowledge on to us all for free! I will pass on what I learn from you! thanks a bunch, keep sharing the love everyone xx xx
in addition to studying sleep, im curious about what effect you think sunlight has on vitamin D, natural testosterone and muscle synthesis.
Interesting. I’m having hip replacement in Oct…. I won’t be having any therapy because when it comes to hips. The dr. said that the therapist over due and have the patients do way to many exercises and they are to often sore and swollen up from it. LOL Due 3000 of these a day.
Bro very nice house, the good life good to see you doing well you deserve it
Physicians they have no clue must of them are couch potatoes……
your tendinitis is from your diet containing an inflammatory such as alcohol, dairy, processed foods, refined sugar, oils, or meat. Your mobility routine/stretches isn’t what failed you
Did you even read the abstract for the article you displayed at 0:38?

try Barkola Senior Hip Blueprint (just google it )? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my brother in law got excellent success with it.
Thank you for the informative video!!
But does that also work for weakened tissue but not hurting? Like when you feel you aren’t using your tendon on it’s full power and it’s a bit weak.
Can those treatment methods help recovering it?

I am 45 years old from a middle class family how about the rates for Hip replacement surgery
Is there any “healthy” protein shakes that actually taste good
I would like this vid, but the anti-meat speech was too harsh to handle.
People are finally starting to debunk this bullshit myth that saturated fat and cholesterol is bad and yet he’s still living under a rock.

“don’t eat meat” tell that to ronnie coleman, arnold and stan afferding. lmfao
Thank you for good information. I have a question. Does red light therapy mean INFRARED?
I like vegan gains when he talks to us meat eaters like humans instead of yelling and belittling us.
The chair the lady is sitting in, is probably the worst I’ve ever seen.Do the still make arm chairs like that, so very bad for the posture.
4 days work out n 3 days off. used to work out 6 days a week and never resting enough almost die
Thank you for these videos
I am on week 4 after my acl surgery
It was VERY HELPFUL
I’m recovering from Total Hip Replacement, and doing well after more than 3 weeks. I have been doing most of these exercises at home usually a few sets each, and about 3 times daily. The fact that I am constantly moving seems be very beneficial. If I sit too long (watching TV or at the computer), I tend to stiffen up a bit. Helps to get up and move around. One more thing: the ankle pumps are a great exercise. They are very easy to do and you can do them anytime while lying down or sitting. But 3000 times a day!!!? Is this guy nuts? Even if I did 30 reps at a time, I would have to do that 100 times daily!!! TOO UNREALISTIC! When would a person have any time left to do all the OTHER exercises? Not mention all the other tasks of bathing, dressing, food prep, eating, house keeping, pet supervision and resting in between. I live alone with 3 dogs, so my day is quite full. I try to do about 100 ankle pumps a day. That seems to work fine for me.
“lol eat quality protein not like meat from animals” you do know protein from animals is the easiest to absorb for the body right? you tried to avoid that point buy pointing out the fats in meat instead.
I would like to go get a cortisone shoot, I bet that would help.
**PLEASE ANSWER**Man, I’m all for veganism. I try, I really do, but I’m a full time college student and I can’t deal with the gas from all those fucking beans, mang! I’m a chemistry undergrad and I have classes sometimes for 6 hours straight. I can’t put up with the discomfort of gas in class. I need to focus too. I wanna get big but I want a degree as well. Any advice?
Sir i had ACL in July 2019….i had 75 percent tissues break…. should i go for surgery?
Hi with the contrast treatment. Do you end with heat or cold? I’m guessing heat but just checking. I’ll do ten minutes ice then 5 minutes heat.
I lifted weights when I was 22 for 4 years until 26. Then stopped. I started again when I was 40. There was only one but very crucial diffrence. Time I need to recover. I was training 5 days a week with no problem, was doing also manual labour I was a carpenter. Now at 40 ( a bus driver now) I work out 4 times a week with the wensdays and weekends always rest. And still I feel sometimes its not enough I still may feel tired. I will switch to push-pull-legs 3 days a week programm to give it try. I dont know what happens to women but in us men 20 to 40 its like you are another person. Completly diffrent body stamina and recovery ability
Marvel select Nightcrawler!!!!
Cool!
You should check out the new legends nightcrawler from the wendigo wave that came out last month..best nightcrawler produced!

Stretch those hip flexors!!!! I never stretched my hips and after 6 years of muay thai my body was jacked up.
The only advise I find important is -Always consult with your physician before you do anything you hear me talk about in my videos. When the physician throws you out of his office you’ll be better educated.
I’m confused now,Have you watch “the Game Changer” on Netflix,Most the athlete fast recovery from injury doing Vegan diet.
Dont take protein from animal base? Dude, all natural and unprocessed source of protein like real meat, chicken, fish and eggs is good for us..rich in protein and easy to absorb. If you thinking getting a protein from a plant is better..well yeah, you can see the result in few hundreds years.. Just because you vegan, it doesn’t means you can talk nonsense.
Do you have wait to recover on abs workout or can you continue abs work out in 24 hours?
You’re such a dumbass. You always find purely articles that support what you believe, sometimes from shady sources. I could find 100 articles right now telling me that drinking water is killing me. You’re a moron dude
you just shaved before starting the video and look at you now!! your metabolism is sky rocketing!!
I swear it was a combo of collagen (in the form of bone broth or any such collagen rich soup) and vit D (aka sunlight) that together with regular daily stretching helped me heal from tendinitis.
Are there studies of what cold hot can do long term for chronic pain?
I experience pain around rotator cuff region after waking up from sleep….this started after an injury while doing pushups….been 3 years and it’s not improving.
Vegan Gains, do you eat a lot of organic foods? I am a vegan, but I started off by eating organic and simply transitioned into becoming a vegan because i was listening to my body and it told me to cut out foods one by one as i began to find them disgusting (like glutten which felt somehow heavy, mayo which tasted like garbage, and a ton of other things. i can’t eat non-organic fruit because it looks horrible and every bite feels like i am poisoning my body). I mention this because I have not seen you reference organics in any of the videos that i have watched for far. If you do not eat organic Please I’d like to ask you that you give it a try and experience it like i have. My journey to becoming a vegan started with organics and the moral aspect was an obvious follow-up, but for me, i am personally more malleable in that aspect even though any time i ever eat any meat at all i feel like shit both physically and spiritually, but anyway because my journey was so much different i wanted to ask you about whether or not you eat organics and to possibly suggest it to you even though i suspect that you are probably as malleable in that aspect as i am on the vegan side of things (which sucks btw, i mean im all against cruelty to animals i just mean that i feel a lot stronger about natural products than i do about animal (bleh) products. I’m sorry for spam, i’m going to post this on a couple more videos because I am new to your channel and i don’t know how much of the comments you get to see
Sorry for being weird, thank you for your time. Love your videos, thank you for keeping me informed, stay awesome!:D
I’m at about 2.5 months post surgery. It is all about hips and ass. Every day different. I walk normal but feel like I need to be light jogging soon. Do all the exercises that hurt! Lunges, clam shell with band, side step lowering on bad knee, stair step ups on bad knee. Would love to hear good 3-4 month tips. Damn coronavirus have to go to video PT
Should have mentioned fasting/intermittent fasting. Maybe detoxification? I’ve heard that detoxifying the body does wonders for the joints.
You’re knowledge is really good but your voice is boring, let’s make the next video more exciting:)
Can you give us an example of what YOU might have after a workout?
hello sir, my right leg knee injury on bike before 4 month…after check my ACL problm and doct say surgry plzzz without surgery how recorvry my ligamnent and knee pain.plz do needful my help.
I
am having my left hip replacrd, 9/10, at Brooke Army Medical Center.
I for the most part don’t do the same thing on a regular basis, Am I killing myself for nothing? I watch three different people you, feroce and huniston and try and incorporate different techniques into my workout. Plus like huniston says I have shiny object syndrome. I will say this though I really enjoy the way you present your videos your very humble!
I had surgery on 6th of September. Foolishly I started rehab. Process after 2 weeks of surgery. I have concerned physio and everything is going well now. But I have a bit pain in my operated knee. And also my other knee is producing pop sounds and paining a bit. The physio said that my knees are hyper-extension and it will be alright when you will practice exercises to stop hyper-extension. Any suggestions?
I can respect the fact that you’re vegan and recommending ways of nutrition from plant sources without insulting us non vegans. Need more people like you.
He looked so innocent unboxing the Dollarshave Club package! I don’t know why, but it made me feel good about myself
I fixed my elbow tendonitis in 3 weeks, did PRP and Prolotherapy…. swear by it.
what is a good exercise to tone the side of my upper chest under my armpits.. ive always been flabby in that area.
“Life suckers” and negativity.. damn, i didn’t expect that..
This looks like a good guide. But why are the exercises not done on the hip that was not replaced as well in order to keep it from getting weak while recovering from hip replacement surgery?
i havent had surgery, even tough i have torn ACL. im will try to do these exercise, what i can, and we will see. thank you for this.
Best practical sleep conversation I have heard. Most don’t explain it in digestable way but you nailed it. Kudos
Your Little guy had me in Stiches when ya all did shave video. It made him look 30 years younger. Lol. Priceless he sure Loves his Dad. Thank you for sharing positive training information. I am probably the Least likely Person to Listen to anyone. Your views and knowledge have my attention and I have seen progress in my gains from your Tips. Much appreciated. I One question on dislocated shoulder and torn short string bicep injury and if possible to fix or over come? Thank’s
I experienced the most muscle gains during the period in my life when I had no stress. Not a coincidence. Stress will kill your sleep quality and can impact your eating habits in a negative way. Gotta control your stress.
re: Stress mindfulness exercises will re-train you to let go of stress.
The only guy I’ve ever heard say not to eat meat to build muscle wtf
Hey, I work on cars for a living. took a hit. my pelvis actually shifted to the left after a hard day at the office. painful stuff.. got any ideas? thanks
1. Eat high lots of high Anti-deoxidants/ whole foods
2. Quality protein sources (no animals)
3. EAT ALOT if you don’t you will not recover fast enough
4. Stretch prevents injury
5. Don’t workout too much know your limits
You’re welcome just saved you 4 minutes
I will say this I like to go into the gym and work my way up to my max and then do working sets at 80% of that and I got stuck at 225 on bench for what felt like forever and I ended up taking two rest days and went in and maxed at 245 and the workout before that I was struggling to get 225 up even though I was able to do it each time I benched before. That’s a 20lbs jump on bench so if you are slaying yourself in the gym constantly I highly suggest taking two days off every once in awhile also on those two days up your caloric intake a bit don’t go crazy but if you’re cutting at 1500 to 1700 just hop up to maintenance I’m not saying have two cheat days just get some extra proteins and fats in you.
I am on day 4 after ACL and Meniscus repair. I can walk and climb stairs relatively pain free. I manage to achieve 90% of these excercises and find them very helpful, thank you! XX
big hi from sydney australia, really enjoy watching your vids. thanks for taking the time to make them, your helping me get my head around the finer details and science behind it all.
Bro i did triceps 2 days ago and i cant go to gym couse i can barely bend my elbow and hand
I never watch the dollar shave club adds but I watched this one because it’s just. So wholesome.
If you are going to get injections like that might as well do stem cell injections! I have heard from a number of people that they worked wonders.
So do you need the fast carbs 30g along with the intra for preworkout since it has cluster dextrin?
Can you suggest what I should do.
I get up at 3am and I’m in the gym by 3:30am. I train for an hour and I’m back home by 5am.
I’ve been training fasted because I get up so early. After my workout, once I’m home, I have a protein shake on the way to work. I work 12hrs a day, so there is no other time to fit the gym in.
What should I eat at 3am as a pre workout?
Nice ad, not annoying and I didn’t even skip it. Of course, excellent recovery content.
I personally can’t eat and then workout, I have to work out fasted.
In prison I noticed about once a month when I would work out chest, walking out the yard I would feel like I was going to have a PR day and then when I came down to bench pressing, the weight would feel extra heavy…. same old weight not like I jumped in weight or anything but it would just feel way heavier and it’s just terrible for morale and I never quite understood why it would happen
My left shoulder has rotator cuff tendonitis, I think I got it from doing a backhand first move or maybe doing dumbbell floor presses IDK, it doesn’t hurt when I put my arm up, down, but when I make a pressing motion straight up it hurts, or when there’s some resistance on my arm and my shoulder does the work, I do shoulder therapy, and went to a physical therapist for a couple of days, idk what to do anymore, it doesn’t seem to be helping at all, should I just do nothing for a week or more? What should I do??? Plz help
Hey Vegan Gains what do you say to claims that soy protein sources such as tofu mimic estrogen in your body and therefore reduce muscle mass?
Many bodybuilding diets explicitly tell you to stay far away from anything soy soy protein isolate in particular.
How do you know, if any1 is a vegan?
He will tell you 129 in the video.
Still good video:D
sir, are aminos indispensable for recovery or we can rely on whey and fast digesting carbs after workouts to get the job done?
I never feel that sore, or have the need for recovery. I can just go hard everyday, maybe my mind can’t detect when my body needs recovery
I have pain in back side of my knee when I do the extension, can you please help me?
I cycle, KOM (King of the Mountain) TT on Wednesday night, had a Cross country race today and just trying to recovery.
John. How many grams of EAA and Cluster dextrin in the Intra meal?
I hate my work roster I work 12 hour shifts that rotate from days to nights… hard for recovery
Day 2, cant do most of these, but im already weight-bearing while crutches. Very, very painful during walking
Working a regular job is good for building a rhythm and a routine.
I would believe him more if he was telling us about how to speed hair growth.
In other videos of this channel, it is said that BCAAs are not necessary if you are already taking protein suplementation which already has the BCAAs. I’m confused now. Should I add some daily BCAAs to my 1 scoop a day of isolated whey and 5mg of creatine? I’m constantly taking 1g of protein per kg (90kg).
I know you said “don’t eat protein from animal sources” but is chipotle ok? I love chipotle
hi
your videos are helping me alot. thanks:)
i had surgery 3 weeks back
i am doing all this workouts with the help of my physio
can you tell me how many sets and repetations to do?
and daily how many times?
wait a minute. So this means that Carolina Reapers are good for you?
Hi vegan gains, can you please tell me how you train your biceps and what do u think about dumbell flyes for the chest??
Great information Brother! Especially the sleep part, sleep is more anabolic than anything else we do
In regards to sleep, I work shift work, ten hr shifts and a 90 minute commute each way. F#[email protected] killing me! Do you think it’s possible to compensate in other areas?
I have to get a hip replacement my Dr.said I would not be given pain medication afterwards I thought after any surgery you had to take pain meds does this sound normal?
very helpful advise.I can tell you know your stuff.
I would add a wonderful red light healing panel thats probably the BEST you can buy would be the REDjuvenator by LEANNE VANIER.This is the lady to research and watch her videos to get a education on light therapy.
I wish I better understood the vitamin thing, the same vitamin in different sources has different affects
so manly shaved to start video but full 5 oclock shadow by the time he starts talking…
Man wtf ur vegan of course u gonna say don’t eat protein from animals…. Lol fucking vegans…. Hey just to let u know ur totally wrong u shouldn’t give this wrong information to people I’m going to report ur fucking channel
I am 69 years old and two day post-op for my right total hip replacement. Right now I can do all the exercises you’ve shown but the Short Arc Quad exercise. My leg is now too week and painful when I try that one.
I have bookmarked this video so I go back to it easily and do them until I have them commented to memory. Thank you much.
I’m in week three post-op, but haven’t touched my foot down yet. I have hyper-extension in my knee coz of which my recovery has been delayed by a week. Cant wait to start doing these exercises.
I would appreciate a video on the benefits of acupuncture therapy for wrist tendonitis. Thanks!
What do you recomend if your a shift worker, can you still get into those sleep rythems when you sleep through the day?
I had right shoulder tendonitis from gym for the last YEAR. IN 3 DAYS ALL I DID was put hot water on the shoulder in the shower every day for a week. And no pain
Clear practical easy to follow instructions and very supportive, Thank you!
Could Voodoo Floss also be a method of increasing circulation to recover from chronic soft tissue injuries?
And here I am still in phase 0 or possibly less.:D
I am going on beginning of week 2 post op, my quad hasn’t activated. Started feeling my hamstring and muscles below the knee feel like 100%. I haven’t done any really challenging exercises. More of moving my foot around to activate muscles below the knee and walking on my crutches.
My knee bends about 80 degreeish I would say and I think I am like 5’ish degrees off a straight knee.
And this guy is like doing exercises my healthy knee would probably struggle with after some reps.:D
As someone who has been in the plumbing service industry before pipeline welding, those Ass Wipe Charlie’s don’t break down in your septic tank and can clog up a drain field. If you have a root issue your going to be calling Mr Roto Rooter sooner than you want.., word to the wise
Thank you so much. I am 4 weeks post THR. I was getting very discouraged watching videos of people walking without walker or cane day after
surgery to 2 weeks postoperative. I am getting better and stronger at my own rate. Using cane most of the time.
Thank you!!!
Will Hydrolyzed Collagen help heal tendonitis compared to Bovine Collagen?
How about full knee extension if knee cap is removed. Also is it possible to get the thigh look normal as mine got thinner after surgery.
Whats the difference between tendonitis and tendenosis? Is the latter more chronic?
i start this year april for the first time everday and i am 37 years old and i look like a bodybuilder already the best for recovery is weed melantonin creatine magnesium cold and hot showers and tiger balm, astaxhantin, colostrum and msm
It’s important to not overdo proteintoo much can cause gluconeogenesis which converts protein into glucose and stores it as fat for those with fatty liver or other liver disorders and increases mTOR production as well.
Most people with fatty liver (NAFLD) have no symptoms until elevated ALT, AST and GGT enzymes show on blood tests.
Thank you soo much for your videos!!!
Will check back in a about a month for results.
I’d luv to see a video on the causes and remedies for loss of knee flexion in the absence of injury or surgery. Can you do this? Thanks
“wandering if your girlfriend has a couple boyfriends” ahaha
I had my right hip replaced in of Jan 2019. It went very well as I was in fairly good shape beforehand, for guy in his late 60s. I was up walking about 2 hrs after surgery.Just amazing. The physio was tough but hang in there,it will get better. I think the main thing after any joint replacement is exercise. The surgeon did his job now it’s time to do yours. This is now 8 months after surgery & I feel great apart from some numbness but I’m told that will go over time.
Ok ok pleas please do some advertising like they did on tv when they first started advertising stuff!
I usually only need 2 days to hit the same muscle group again. Although I do use variation splits that hit different muscles specifically to give mostvrecovery time.
Can’t agree completely,
Myo Xymum( HHCO NUTRITION)can only be bought in France. This set you up and ready 6 hours after intense work out. Myo Hardcore( Scitec Nutrition) is a protein shake and by far the most effective. Again could only be bought in France. Motivation plays an important role. Why do you exercise?
Would you recommend spices to load on antioxidants for the recovery? or is fresh juicy fruits and veg the only way to go?
Also, would you charge the antioxidants pre or post-exercise?
cheers legend
Chronic shoulder injury and I underwent several sessions of dry needling to encourage/expedite healing. Stuck with the pt throughout and it didn’t really improve anything. So I stopped playing softball for awhile. I’m back and the injury is just as prevalent as before. I want to avoid further damage, but I don’t want to stop doing something I enjoy. Should I demand some type of imaging on my next visit?
Vegan gains viewing cycle:
1. I hate this douchebag, but am entertained by the craziness
2. I hate this guy, but his stuff does at least seem pretty well researched
3. I think he’s a little nuts, but I have to admit he makes some good points
4. Dude is weird, but I”m starting to change my diet
5. The videos are entertaining, I’m considering less meat
6. Look forward to the videos, given up meat for the most part
7. Like the videos, pescatarian
8. Think the videos are great, vegetarian and thinking about going vegan
9. I fucking love this channel, pretty much vegan
Thanks a lot man
Aren’t the doctors and professional studies he references formed their opinions on classes that are animal product heavy?
It’s worth noting that having stem cells injected works more quickly, and more thoroughly, than the standard prolotherapy that injects the sugar water type substance into painful areas. It is more costly to have the stem cell treatments. It would be worth researching which therapy would tend to work better based on an individual, and what type of problem, and in what area of their body they are wanting to be treated.
Man I get sore from like 2-4 days after a workout (mainly legs, though chest too but less so. Never arms, for some reason).
My biggest problem is appetite. I started a weight gain and lifting journey earlier this year and after gaining about 15 pounds my already low appetite just bottomed out. I thought it would be the opposite! Like working out, getting exercise for the first time in years, having my stomach “expand.” But it’s been the opposite; I really struggle to finish meals I could before. I dunno what’s wrong. My body sucks I found I have low T but it’s not like that all of a sudden changed.
I do need to get more sleep for sure, though. Four hours on weekdays ain’t enough.
Mountain dog is not only a professional bodybuilder but a professional life educator as well
I appreciate the down to earth way you explained everything. I’m always thankful for your instruction.
is it better to cook kale or is it fine if i drink it raw. i heard it could fuck with thyroid but that could be bs
I dont like taking days offffffffff but im not 100%.. soo am i suppose to go back only when im able to give it 100%??
am I the only one thinking that this is so hypnotizing because of the music and the way the guy describes the exercises?:)) I just fell asleep for 2 hours now watching this =))
I heard Asparagus has the master anti-oxidant called Glutothioane or something like that. And same with watermelons but not that seedless shit though. I don’t trust seedless fruits
I just looooooove your videos!!So explicit, easy to follow, you really know what is all this about!!Thank you!

perfect timing on the email!
have been feeling some knee pain after a workshop that didn’t give proper warming up and had too much talk and too little movement.
are you… listening to my phone mic?
😉
If people do no take in enough fats, than be carefull with the A/D supplement intake if used for a longer period. A/E/D/K are fat solving, so they need fat to be used by the body. If people dont take in enough fats (and yes they are still out there) they may stack in you’re body over longer period of time and cause a poisenous reaction. You don’t want that.
Well im not so lucky i had THR SURGERY LEFT SIDE n 8 mos later im still having problems with alot of pain
330 409 5780 can some one call n help me
Wait, So when I add Heat and Cold. How long should it be? 10 or 15 Min?
If your REM info is true, then a nights sleep is similar to a set, in the idea that most of your results are coming from the tail end of a complete cycle.
An awesome playlist of 26 short videos by Dr. Greger on increasing athletic performance!

The fact that you cite a study for each proposed technique is very respectable and makes you unique from the ten million other fitness channels. Nice work!
Ultrasound therapy, works great.
Ice and heat
And
Cold laser or Light therapy.
This was so helpful. I’m looking forward to sharing this information with my “Boomer” group. I’ve done the red light laser therapy through my Chiropractor when I fractured my foot. My podiatrist wanted to know what on earth I was doing because he had never seen anyone heal so quick to the point where I never had to wear one of the bulky boots.
Into my 2nd week of post ACL surgery, great video to assist with my recovery. Thanks!
When the Batman scene came up I lost focus on what he was saying
I love your videos guy, but just watch a video of yourself sometime and count how many times you say the word “okay”…
Since changing over to keto, with lots of kale, veggys, good fats, protein and straightening out my electrolytes, I have no aches or pains (and knock on wood) no injuries.
1:47 Okay that is kind of BS. I mean you you want to denounce animal proteans cool but that is not true. Animal Proteins have some benefits plants don’t and plant proteans have some benefits animal proteans don’t. Cardio Stress is a thing with animal proteans for a reason as is zinc bounding deficiencies with plant proteans.

would love a full body stretching video similar to your full body mobility routine but for static stretching, something concise to do daily before bed for example. keep up the content
Thanks for this video, so very helpful in many ways. I am 2 weeks post op hip replacement in the UK. Our NHS is excellent but this video gives a little extra and has really helped me.
How long should you apply heat and cold to an area when rotating, for what total duration, and how many times should you repeat the process in a day? Thanks
I just started using cluster dextrin. How I know it is really working?

Have golfers elbow for 1 year now. Tried rehab for 8 months and still have pain. Scheduled for surgery soon:/
Dr.Boes I’m 40 a Marine, I’ve been told I have a genetic laxity with my ligaments, I’m about to be on my 5th surgery on the same knee. My cadaver ligaments hold solid for the first few months then stretch, any advice? 2nd what do you think about prolotherapy post op?
I can barely afford my surgery and physical therapy afterwards just isn’t possible /:
Would it be smart to just follow along with this video rather than enrolling into a physical therapist’s program?
I am not using a freaking walker and I have TWO dogs to WALK!!! Up 2 flights of stairs to my apartment. I’m so screwed
Can’t You just ice it down couple times day? AC joint injury talking about.
Can anyone please tell these exercises need to do with hinge brace or without brace, as my physio and doctor said not to remove brace till three months.
I’m 3 days post op. taking oxycontin and trying to learn from this video. It seems like she’s smiling at the beginning of her sentences but by the end of her sentence she’s looking evil lol kinda scary
I had my first boxing class two days ago and my left shoulder hurts should this help
Thanks for the tips, I took on board your facts in this video back in early may and I can say I have already noticed the gains and speed of recovery following workouts.
I know my mindset and everytime I take more than 2 days off I make up excuses to not got back, so I workout 5 days a week and rest weekends
That squatclip at 3:45 is probably the most depressing thing I’ve seen in a while. Talk about ego-lifting.
Nice video Richard!
Man working out and planning nutritional meals is a full time job
I can do all dis exercise..& i hvnt do any surgery yet..cos now its been 2months at least..but I can’t run well or bend my leg cos of acl.
Blake, you said that yout had wrist tendonitis at the time of the video. How is it now?
It’s my week 9 still can’t flex my knee fully. I cried every therapy session since my therapist is doing passive knee flexion. Is their any exercises that could lessen my pain?
If i have elbow tendonitis do i have to put my whole arm on cold/hot or just my elbow?
Hi Vegan Gains! Is better to add vegan protein to the fruits?
Dude, I’m going to hit this. I’m struggling at numerous points and having no luck. Cucumin and bromelain are not touching it so back to basics collagen, multi vitamin and thanks for the red light advise.
im 8 weeks into surgery and i find everyone is different im slowly gaining strength as i lost 20 percent of my muscles on the operated knee
I’m week 5 of acl recon and meniscus repair and I’m way way ahead or this I need some strengthening stuff any good vids?
balance plyo ball, exercise after 7 min 30 sec. is this with training/injury leg on the ground or raised?
I had my surgery almost 5 months ago and according with this video, I am in the phase 2 of exercises:( Should I be doing more? I feel that my doctors and people in charge of my rehab have been very uninterested in me. I used to play Soccer Professionally
For some reason I’m cravings intense exercise but I can’t do it I’m so sore and dead after yesterday i did double the exercise i do usually do
2:25 but thats not right eccentric motion has nothing to do with muscle grow what you really want is somthing so heavy that you cant even lift at all but when you try to lift it cause you to let it down slowly by fighting it this is the meaning of eccentric motion if you just gonna lift something and let it down slowly thats not an eccentric motion its just that you use less power to lift it!!!!!!
Just had the surgery and am in 3 rd week. These workout is useful but main workout is walking as much you can.
Is it normal to still feel numb in the knee slightly after 1 month or more after surgery????
eat loads of meat, you can be and feel the same as vegans! wow
#4. Cold showers. Crush joint pain and inflammation with daily cold showers
now this is a nice video, why cant you keep that instead of the usual smut you upload?
Thank you so much Dr…. I also cannot be affordable to physiotherapy in my country… Thanks a lot:-)
Working out takes patience. No-one has been huge after the first day, not even Arnold. It’s a slow process that takes weeks, months, years, and rest days are just as important as workout days. Resting becomes even more important if you have stress from your job or school.
The only tips he gave was enough protein and eat lots of vegetables. In a 6 minute video
I had both hips replaced on the same day in 2006 at Deconess Hospital in Billings Montana. Surgery was performed by Dr. Michael Willis.
After the initial healing, I have never had a limp or a pain due to my replacements.
I lived remote and didn’t have access to physical therapy so I just made myself walk around inside the house five laps one direction and change direction. At a brisk a pace as possible. challenge yourself. Also once you can do that easily, start walking on slightly uneven ground with a cane or not.
Im a 100% success story.
Im not a doctor and my advice is not professional. Its just my own success story and I’d like to share it.
Dr Willis also replaced both of my knees on the same day in 2008 and as is with my hips, I have no pain or limp. You would never know I had replacements. The knees were a bit harder to recover from. My right one hurt for a while, but for years it hasn’t bothered me at all.
I was blessed to have been in the God guided hands of Dr. Michael Willis. Billings Mt.
I’m into 8th week of my AcL and meniscus repair.. it’s too much painful just started slowly walking.. and these things are really very far to me I feel.. I’m not negatively thinking.. but its true.. is it fine if I could do at least half of the excercise you have shown slowly or I’m I really laging.. just confused
Hi Dr. Boes, is it fine to do these exercises while some area of the knee is still swollen?
Thanks
It’s still surprise me just how lots of people have no idea about Custokebon Secrets (just search it on google) although lots of people lost tons of weight using it. Thanks to my mate who told me about this. I have lost tons of weight.
Everyone needs to remember, each persons body will recover differently. I’m 4 weeks post OP and I’m out of the brace with no crutches. I’m walking almost like I did before the injury, my bend is at 85° and flexion is a +1. Someone I know is 5 weeks post op and still has to use the brace and crutches. Listen to your body and don’t push it to hard. Just continue with your program and you will fully recover 5-6 months.
stop wearing Venom shirts. Venom is a meat eater. It makes you look like a hypocrite.
You can check Unflexal to learn more about training your body.
love your input, im 52 so i listen to almost everything you say..thanks big guy.
The bone in top of both my shoulders hurts the day after working out. Why?
I don’t think we could do this because in the 2nd/3rd week I was barely able to stand:(
I’m coming from Tamil Nadu in India super keep it up thanks for my education
You’re ABSOLUTELY amazing. Thank you for the wealth of information!
It was this one: https://www.amazon.com/Bulletproof-Your-Knee-Optimizing-Function/dp/1457544687/ref=asap_bc?ie=UTF8
Nobody got time for a week, just eat well and sleep, and one day, and ur set
What’s the difference between 3:41 exercise and 4:42 exercise? They seem like they would cause the same kind of pain to occur.
What kind of cluster dextrin and Eaas do you recommend? Thanks MD.
This is good video to study, I’m live in Viet Nam, About 20 days more I will have repair the ACL, Hope well done.
I did contrast therapy at home with my broken foot.. Hated doing it but loved the affect
Had my ACL operated on left knee without any problems. 2 MONTHS post -op i am experiencing some acute discomfort on my other non operated knee. Visibly there is a bump on the posterior side of the knee cap and i could also feel some annoying stiffness at times. Am i the only one having this issue here?
The major key, in my professional and practical opinion from experience, for fast recovery, is keeping the thigh and leg muscles from atrophying, (shrinking)
Immediately after awakening from surgery flex your foot up and down repetitively non stop for at least the first six hours of awakening.
I was out of hospital in 23 hours. 14 years ago at age 49 with a Posterior incision. Average recovery time was to expect 3 to 6 weeks.
I am having 7 degrees of extension lag and 20 degrees of flexion lag after my acl and meniscus repair surgery.
I am in the 6th month of surgery now.
Can you please help me with some tips to get over the problem?
Thank u my man you told me very thinking with out the extra just facts and to the point. Sub
Hate rest days looking out my windows like wounder what my weights are doing today I get my pain to days after training so the one day after I’m like yh kl no pain body healed then wake up 2nd day ohhh shit
Monday = Workout
Tuesday = Rest
Wednesday = Workout
Thursday = Rest
Friday = Workout
Saturday + Sunday = Rest + Eat&Sleep
Is it okay that i do a 15min cardio session on the muscle group that I weight-trained the day prior? For example my routine is:
Day 1: full lower body workout
Day 2: 15min lap swim (kick only)
Day 3: full upper body workout
Day 4: 15min lap swim (using arms/ upper body strength only)
Repeat (no full rest days unless I can’t go to the gym for some reason)
I feel that the cardio leads to quicker recovery and I read that this short span of moderate intensity cardio will not kill gains. I just started adding in the cardio a couple of weeks ago for added overall health benefits & don’t seem to have lost any muscle, it actually shows a little more I’m assuming due to some fat loss. But I wanted to see what you think. Might it kill my gains over the long term? Is it considered overtraining on the muscle?
John I am a subscriber really enjoy your channel and knowledge. I have a question and it’s about recovery. I’m 40 years old and ever since I started training I suffered from major soreness the next day after a workout. I usually work 1 body part a workout and I go to failure every set. I find that it takes me 3 days to recover from the soreness. I’ve tried issuing EAA BCAA it dkesnt seem to help. Do you think I’m going to hard in the gym going to failure on every set? Mentally it’s hard for me to do a set and leave reps in the tank. Or combine body parts so atleast I’m hitting every body part in the week. I find the soreness is hindering my work outa where I cant get through them in a week. 2 days ago I did Tri & bi and like usual no pain I’m my biceps but triceps are still sore. It’s hard to do a set routine when your sore fornso long.im trying to figure away to work around it.
4 weeks post op acl been very hard to get flexion due to the vastus lateralis area being very tight and tender to touch any suggestions please?
tofu is made from soybeans which can increase estrogen in men…..
Thank you for all of your well informed advise. You are one of my top (3) YouTube trainers, it will be a year in February. Yes, it took my body a week to recover, I almost made a doctors appointment because I just thought something else was going on. I wasn’t happy about not being able to work out, but I didn’t press it. I just performed some light lifting (5lb) dumbbells to keep my muscle warm.
I have practically zero DOMS on upper body (except for the lower back pain) even after intense workouts.
Lower body, however, causes severe DOMS which lasts for days so it’s harder to train lower body twice a week.
The presenter is very believable, and the support visuals were well done and helpful, Thanks.
i always take at least 1 or 2 days rest between going to the gym, i feel the muscle sorenes on the 2nd day after working out. so this works for me,plus my day job is also very physical.
Thank you ao much, your video are amazing, I like the way you’re full of information and deliver everything word you say. I have learnt alot from u. Thanks again
OMG LOVE that redhead! It ALMOST takes away my knee pain just watching her! Now,what did I do with my ice,my Percoset and my Southern Comfort?
its really a nice series sir i just had my surgery done on 13th march when should i start doing phase 2 excercises
Its not necessary to put a video of a murdered animal after you say protein
Partailly torn ACL about 7 months ago. The swelling heal in about 4 months. I went back into the sport of soccer, when again I suffered another knee injury. I have not gotten surgery cause im too broke. However i am able to walk now and I find these exercises extremely helpful. Im on the journey of joining my universities D1 soccer team.
Your a smart man awesome.content very helpful thank you so much God bless you
I hate BCAAs. Honestly whenever I take those I wake up the next day feeling/looking like I’ve lost muscle mass & also dehydrated.
I cannot tell whether the person who had the hip replacement in the video is a man or a woman. This distracted me from the content of the video. Was it a man or a woman?
Did anyone else see the photoshop app in the bar at the bottom
I was feeling a pain in my right upper back area and my scapula is winging i was performing a pull up and i feel something popped in my back, i dont what happened if my muscle is torned please help me i liked the video btw think its really helpful should i do those steps to help my injury?
r u giving fucking advice?????being such a skinny fucker u giv advice xD douche bag
I had full hip replacement 5 days ago and I am struggling so much… this video answered all my questions about constipation, medication, exercises. This is the best! I can’t thank you enough for making the video and posting it.
Honestly I’d rather use body fat for fuel not carbs. Carbs during workout make me sluggish. I prefer carbs post workout only. That’s just me.
Hi John, you speak a lot about EAA. Are you familiar with Peptopro (very hydrolized casein) which may be even better than EAA (if we push the BCAA vs EAA reasoning further) as you also find in there the other aminos. And if so, what are your thgouths on Pepto pro and peptopro vs EAA? thanks
Let’s say you eat blueberries, do they have to be alone or do you eat them on a meal?
I’ll rest when I’m dead!!
Lift hard and heavy, then stuff your face with proteins and green veggies!! 7 days a week!
How would having my medial meniscus sewn back together along with ACL reconstruction affect the timeline for these exercises. I’m 19 days in and can’t walk normally yet so still using crutches. No physio now either with this covid 19
Would Bragg’s Amino Acids work in helping to rebuild muscle? It contains non essential amino acids that are the result of creatine.
Same I feel like resting means I’m not doing anything productive. Although like the video did explain some of the problems I was having when not resting.
Do you recommend soy or pea protein or brown rice protein? Or should I get my protein strictly from food? I am vegan but new, I used whey before but I can’t use it anymore ofcourse!
Watching your videos made me go vegan, I feel so much better
I take atleast 3 days to recover and I am always amazed how much stronger I am next time. Try it!
my left hip was completed last night, the post-op instructions were NONE EXISTENT!!!! and my wife and I are pretty pissed off.
I have been watching these vids for three weeks. When we asked questions regarding several items we both felt put off. Example, I was not provided any written instructions, exercises!! Nothing.. I called surgeons office this morning as Anesthesiologist instructed on taking aspirin.. I ask the girl this morning what dose I should take, she tells me quote: take a baby aspirin 2x a day, morning and evening. I ask further, what dose please, she puts me on hold comes back and says, take 325 twice a day!!!!!! I couldn’t believe it.. I told her 325 is Not! a baby aspirin, guess what does she do next? yup puts me hold.. Outrageous!! DO YOUR HOMEWORK PEOPLE, these medical office staffs are ill trained knucleheads, ( at least mine is ). We have had other clerical issues as well.. I will Yelp when this process is over with. I live in a small beach town.. word spreads fast, especially at my gym..
On rest days just go to the gym and hit 20-30 mins of Cardio HIIT or some sort of cardio activity you enjoy (swimming, sports, bike ride whatever) Keeps you consistent, also treat the gym like your job makes you feel like you need to atleast get 5 days in and pick 2 days as your “weekend”
I noticed if i do a workout on a Monday, I can only attack the same muscle groups on Thursday. I am currently doing progressive overload right now so that can be part if why i need a full 72 hours to heal.
Thank Dr Mathew, i cannot afford to pay for physio in my country
I’ve done mesotherapy (NSAIDs), it works very well, but nothing works better than intermittent fasting believe me, it’s like an anti pain drug, but sometimes i get sick of it, so i’m using infrared, and now i’m gonna try this contrast therapy and hopefully i’ll get rid of this stubborn tendinitis
I really needed to hear this. I just did a full body workout with weights and normally I would do high intensity cardio (run 3-6 miles and bike (6-8 miles) the next day. I wonder how bad that is for my body?
i have Inflammation is that good been 42 days is mine chronic will i heal stiffness
Hi ever so.sorry you all going through so much. I am in need of surgery, I am barely making it from point A to B without a fall. I not yet 60. Anyone ever do anything before surgery.
Would you prefer chicken or beef? The majority of body builders prefer chicken but I think grass fed beef might be a healthier option.
hello!!! i had my surgery almost 4 month ago i can do only 120 degrees and can’t straight my leg. What can i do? It’s very dangerous? I need another surgery? Doctors in Georgian are not good. I had first surgery (meniscus) 2 years ago.
I keep waking 2-3 AM every day and can’t fall asleep again…I’m in bed on time, around 11 PM, don’t eat late, don’t drink much, but i just can’t establish good sleep…so I’m sleepy again during the day, on my work etc…dunno what going on….So getting enough sleep is important, but it’s easier said than done
I have a goal to lose weight and gain muscle (especially after sitting on my butt, eating and drinking coffee thanks to Covid-19). This channel is amazing, I developed a workout program and am learning more and more thanks to the abundance of information and, unlike most channels, he gets straight to the point! I just started and I already feel better and am starting to see results. Sometimes, on other channels, you have to hear someone talk and tell stories for 10 minutes, only for them to give you 20 seconds worth of useful information (and it is not always useful or, at least, non-obvious!). A very sincere thank you, as well as a salute to all those, like me, working hard to improve ourselves. You only live once!
its important to mention that smoking marijuana or alcohol before bedcan disrupt REM
Does Fenoboci Diet Plan (google it) help me lost crazy amounts of weight? I see many people keep on speaking about this popular lose weight methods.
What about workers in Bricklaying who literally workout 6 days a week they only have one rest day
This guy also said in another video he hasn’t taken a week off in 15 years…
Taking a week off? Shouldn’t that be a strong sing that your over training to begin with?
3 years after still don’t have that full flexion or extension, if you are post op don’t slack on those heel props, calf stretches and prone hangs. Keep at it
What about all them swole mah fuckers in prison they pump iron every single day
Lost me at holistic. But I am a bit surprised the nonsense didn’t start till after 6 minutes. Kind of just eased into the crap. Good strategy.
I don’t like breaking my training rhythm by having a day off but there’s no doubt I was noticeably stronger after a recent forced week absence. Such a hard balance to find.
People usually require more recovery time in the beginning pay attention to any pain near joints or where muscles connect rest until that kind clears up. I hit up some cardio or yoga on recovery days, maybe even just a long walk whatever doesn’t interfere with recovery too much and eases soreness.
Would have been more helpful if the video was made with a person who recently had an acl reconstruction himself.would have been able to grasp the range of motion i should be achieving in every exercise properly
i am really thankful to you ♥️ keep up your great work! GOD BLESS YOU!
I had an ACL Reconstruction Surgery 1 month ago using Hamstring graft. I was feeling OK, and so started walking with a gentle limp. However, once I was trying to pick up something from the floor and had a massive stretch on my hamstring. I also heard a cracking sound. My mobility is still the same as my level before this incident. However, it feels a bit strained and I observe a gentle bump and swelling behind the knee area.
Could you suggest me if it’s normal or may it heal naturally?
first, NO it will NOT be like this forever, just the first month, eat + sleep + exercise, don’t worry about anything else for the first month. It is a long process to recover from this extensive trauma. I am past my 6 month and pretty close to back to normal.
I am looking for people who have had the hip replacement, ESPECIALLY if you had the additional problem of “hip pop out” and had to have it reset.
If you would like to help other people deal — contact me PM or here,
I am trying to build a comprehensive video and lack this data: the event of “pop-out” and specifically any indicators or feelings prior and during that incident. What were you doing to cause it and any other minor points that you could think of.
Even though I love to keep my beard, but loved the marketing. By the way John, there is something called bidet. It exists in a portable and fixed form, it basically cleans butts with water (imagine filling it with warm water in the winter..) try one, you won’t regret it! As always, impeccable advice, you’re awesome!
vegan gains, does this still apply if you’re trying to lose weight also? probably poorly phrased but hope you get it and reply
where and when are aminos uptaken, cause carbs uptake in mouth for the fastest, so if aminos first absorb in the first part of intestetine, then fast carbs at same time as aminos will do you no good, but maybe aminos absorb allready in mouth or stomac? Pl. s look into that.
Are these okay for aclr with hamstring ST/G technique? I want to save my ST and G as much as possible.
Sounds like you were shaving tree limbs off your face! Your hair is making gains to!!
Also drink plenty of water, eat spinach and Omega 3, and of course stay away from sugar.
Hey BIG ED here still on my wife’s tablet
I’m a 61 year old man getting
Ready to have my left hip
Replacement in October
This video has helped me alot
Ty so much for your information and time
any advice for lifter who has physical demanding job. how many times a week should i train and how long should i train. and what split is better. should i train 2x a week with full body workout
eating animal collagen to produce human collagen does not make sense,,,,our bodies will attempt to assimmulate anything we eat…but Its What we ABSORB that COunts!!
1. Leafy Greens and Citrus
Vitamin C plays a major role in collagen synthesis, and foods like leafy greens, citrus fruits (plus broccoli, broccoli rabe and red peppers!) are filled with it. Vitamin C also acts as an antioxidant, so you get the added benefit of protecting your skin from free radical dama
Pt can sit on sofa after 15 days of hip replacement?? plz give suggestions
im on my 4th week now and some of these are still imposible for me
Thanks for exercises for early rehab after total hip replacement. I am about 9 weeks after surgery. When do you think I can renew rebounding, at least for the Health Bounce? I’ve used the rebounder before but I am 85 now, and cautious but eager to use it as part of my rehab. Would love your advice. Thanks. ps: I’ve recently learned I have osteoporosis in my hips and lower spine, so another question is: what do you think about rebounding for increasing bone density? I’m not going to go the medical treatment route. Please advise on this too. I do sooo appreciate your help.
Please don’t put a feature film on while you’re talking it’s very distracting.
Question? Why the doctors says, do exercise everyday it is important?
The relentless stress Monday Friday where I lived my life at 100MPH was killing my gains. One thing I have learned from The Covid shutdown is that i do not miss one second of that life. I wasn’t enjoying it, I wasn’t getting good rewards from it, and it was also making it impossible for me to train on Saturday due to physical and mental tiredness. I think a lot of us will have a new outlook on how we live our lives once the economy starts opening up again. That includes how we look after our body and mind.
The same way other you tubers try vegan diets for a period of time, you should give meat a try. It’d be very interesting and informational.
I had carried out my acl surgery but now should I use ice or hot water bag please guide me sir thanks….
11 days post op and I’ve started doing some of the stretches and leg lifts today. These are great! Covid put a 3 week wait on physio so these are helping.
So i just started working out to lose weight and after the first day my body hurt so does that mean I need to take rest till my body fully heal? Or keep doing the same work out?
I am nearly 3 weeks after ACL & sewing of ruptures on both medial & lateral menicus. These exercises you have are great, very well put together. However, I am not allowed to put full weight on my leg before 6 weeks after surgery.. right now I have often problems bending my knee as the swollen Hoffa fat pad basically just locks the bend. My swelling has reduced a lot but this is still happening. Have you seen this before and what do you think the probability is of it going away within a few weeks? It really restricts my bending exercises even though I can sometimes bend to around 85 degrees. (When it doesn’t get in the way).
“Grass fed beef” is really good for you. Do not eat beef if it is not grass fed. Here is a quick google search image.

It’s been 1 week and my knee is still swollen and I can’t bend it at all
You should check out gaugegirltraining on YouTube and let us know your thoughts! I’ve seen videos where she promotes paleo diets and warns people against vegan diets!
Wow! So black people’s scar skin is totally black and darker! Cool.
Two days minimum. Hit a certain muscle hard no more than twice a week three at the most. Giving it a week will give more strength. Great video this channel has everything. Thank you
After 5 months of surgery I am still not able to get the full extension and hyperextension, Is it possible to regain it now as I have lost my crucial time of gaining the extension at early stage?
